Kati's Corner: Putting the Service Dog into a Down Stay

The "down stay" is one of the most important commands that the service dog has. It is used to tell the dog where you want them to lay down and to stay in that spot until released. You may need to do this while dining in a restaurant, in a school setting, or to help with daily tasks like keeping them out of the kitchen while you cook. The video below you will see me demonstrate how to put the service dog into a down stay. Notice the leash communication used in conjunction with the verbal commands.
